In July 2019 UPM announced the largest investment in the history of Uruguay: the construction of a state-of-the-art pulp mill located in the center of the country. This new venture -with a production capacity of 2.1 million tons per year- will represent the largest plant of UPM in the world and once operating will contribute to a 2% growth of the country’s GDP.
